EXPOSURE VISIT TO WELFARE AGENCIES- 2026

The Department of Social Work organized an educational exposure visit for first-year BSW and MSW students to various welfare and rehabilitation agencies. The aim was to provide practical knowledge about the structure, functions, resources, funding, and services of welfare organizations. During the visit, students explored institutions under the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), including the Child Care Institution (CCI), Specialized Adoption Agency (SAA), Special Observation Home, and DAPTA. Officials and staff welcomed the students and conducted orientation sessions explaining the roles and responsibilities of these organizations.

At the CCI, students learned about child care facilities, rehabilitation processes, government support, and management systems. The SAA provided insights into adoption procedures, counselling services, and ethical adoption practices. At the Special Observation Home, staff explained the functioning of the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), rehabilitation methods, counselling approaches, and services for juveniles. Through interactive discussions and case studies, students gained valuable field experience and a deeper understanding of child welfare, rehabilitation services, and professional social work practice.
